Polyurethane foam shortages

As the largest online foam converter in the UK, we feel it is necessary that our customers are made aware of the current situation our industry is faced with.

Throughout 2020 to date, eFoam has continued to convert and supply our valued customers without interruption. We genuinely believe this proves both our agility to react to extreme pressures like working through the Covid-19 pandemic but also our commitment to putting our customers first.

Unfortunately, the foam industry is now being faced with ongoing severe issues regarding the chemical supply used to manufacture polyurethane foam. As a business, we have reacted to this ever-changing situation by offering alternative grades of foam to our customers to maintain a continuous supply.

Our key polyurethane supplier has implemented weekly allocations and more recently drastically rationalised the grades of foam available.

At present, we as an industry are faced with an incredibly difficult period of time, in turn, many other businesses who are reliant on polyurethane foam materials, such as the upholstery, furnishings and bedding industries are all being affected. This is having a considerable impact not only on businesses, but many livelihoods are also being put in jeopardy.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all our key suppliers for their unparalleled support throughout 2020 and to our valued customers for their continued support and understanding during these testing times. Similarly, eFoam wishes all its competitors a safe journey through these difficult times. We are all in this together.

We will continue to accept orders, and subject to availability, orders will be allocated into production strictly in date order.

If there are any further developments, we will, of course, keep you updated. If however, you require any further clarity, please do not hesitate to contact us.
