eFoam Lockdown Update

Since lockdown began in mid-March, the nation has faced a range of difficult circumstances. It has been an extremely challenging time for all those affected by Coronavirus – front-line workers, shopkeepers, care and medical givers and the general public – and we extend our greatest gratitude. At eFoam, the pandemic has significantly changed the way we operate, and as ever we continue to strive to exceed our customers' expectations.

Operationally, we've kept staff and customers safe through heightened social distancing and hygiene measures. Despite these new requirements changing how we go about daily foam production and sales, we're incredibly proud of our dedicated, hardworking team, who are determined to deliver their very best.

Our team have been working day and night, seven days a week, to best serve our customers, with several members volunteering to work from dawn until dusk. We're grateful for their support, and we thank our loyal customers for their generosity and understanding.

Over the past few months we've supplied foam components to a range of front-line organisations and healthcare professionals, including care homes, schools and carers, as well as individual customers making PPE visors to donate to local hospices and retirement homes. The public response to the pandemic has been truly amazing, and we're proud to support the communities and individuals coming together. We've supplied well over 2 million foam components to vital services over the lockdown period, and are still producing tens of thousands each week.

With heightened demand for personal protective equipment (PPE), we've directly supported a range of businesses and healthcare organisations across the UK, supplying local, NHS and private hospitals. As demand for PPE outstripped supply early on, we worked closely with other manufacturers to supply foam strips and components for PPE, as many fantastic manufacturers shifted from their usual work to produce visor face shields.

Outside healthcare, we're also pleased to have produced foam for the clear plastic guards used in supermarkets, essential offices and at till points. Using a rigid closed-cell foam block, these pieces hold the guards in place and help us all shop and work safely.

These are undoubtedly unusual times, and we sincerely thank our customers for their ongoing support. We've been incredibly busy with critical foam orders, as well as a higher volume of website orders from those embarking on foam-based DIY and projects during lockdown. There have been unavoidable delays in some cases while we prioritise essential healthcare and front-line needs, and we thank you all for your understanding and patience.
