10% Discount & FREE memory foam pillow worth £30 on orders over £150 Sonic Acoustics — Professional Range Acoustic FoamProfessional grade acoustic foam tiles and bass traps, UK made by eFoamSonic Acoustics is eFoam's professional range of acoustic foam, a step up from our standard acoustic tiles in both density and profile design. The higher density cell structure gives the Sonic range improved absorption characteristics across the mid to high frequency range, and the choice of three distinct profiles, Wedge, Pyramid and Flat bevelled, means you can match the product to both the acoustic requirements and the visual demands of your space. Every Sonic Acoustics product is manufactured here in the UK to exacting British standards, complying with UL94 HF1 Classification. The range includes both tiles and matching bass traps, so you can achieve a complete and consistent acoustic treatment throughout your room using a single product family. Sonic tiles can be installed on walls and ceilings using our spray adhesive. For low frequency treatment, pair them with Sonic bass traps in room corners. If you're looking for our standard acoustic foam range, see our acoustic foam tiles page and bass traps page. Applications include:

Sonic Acoustics Technical SpecificationsSonic Acoustics products are manufactured from high density combustion modified polyether polyurethane foam, tested to British Standards. The higher density specification compared to our standard acoustic range gives the Sonic tiles improved absorption performance, particularly at mid frequencies. Physical PropertiesPhysical properties measured using test methods described in the BS4443 series and BS EN ISO 845.

Specification last reviewed March 2026. Simply Foam Products Ltd reserves the right to update product data without prior notice. Acoustic Absorption DataThe chart below shows the sound absorption coefficient across the frequency spectrum. Sonic Acoustics tiles are 50mm thick throughout the range, the thicker profile compared to many standard tiles contributes to improved mid-frequency absorption. For low frequency treatment combine with Sonic bass traps in room corners.

If yours isn't here, get in touch and we'll give you a straight answer. What is Sonic Acoustics and how does it differ from standard acoustic foam?Sonic Acoustics is the professional tier of eFoam's acoustic foam range. The most meaningful difference is the profile design, where standard tiles come in flat chamfered and convoluted finishes, the Sonic range offers wedge, pyramid and flat bevelled profiles that are precision cut to more exacting tolerances. The 50mm thickness throughout the range also gives consistent performance. The Sonic range tends to be the choice for installations where appearance and consistency matter alongside acoustic performance such as professional studios, high-end home theatres, commercial spaces, while the standard range is perfectly well suited to home studios, offices and general acoustic treatment. What is the difference between wedge, pyramid and flat bevelled Sonic tiles? The wedge has parallel ridges running across the face, it's the profile you see in most professional recording studios and performs very well at breaking up mid to high frequency reflections. The pyramid has pointed peaks arranged in a grid, which scatters sound across a wider range of angles. This can be particularly useful in rooms where reflections are arriving from multiple directions rather than one dominant surface. The flat bevelled tile is smooth-faced with chamfered edges, acoustically effective while being the most visually discreet of the three. In terms of pure absorption performance the differences are subtle; the choice often comes down to the look you want for the space. What size Sonic tiles should I choose? The small tiles (300 x 300mm) are easier to work around obstacles like switches, sockets, door frames and give you more control over precise placement. They also tend to look better in smaller rooms where large tiles can feel visually heavy. The large tiles (600 x 600mm) are faster to install over open wall areas and give a cleaner, more continuous surface with fewer joints. Both sizes are 50mm thick so the acoustic performance per square metre is identical. It's mainly a practical decision based on your space. Do I need Sonic bass traps alongside Sonic tiles? For a genuinely complete acoustic treatment in a professional environment, yes. Sonic tiles handle mid to high frequency reflections on walls and ceilings very effectively. But low frequency energy bass doesn't behave in the same way. It accumulates in room corners regardless of how well the walls are treated, creating bass modes that affect how your room sounds at different positions. Sonic bass traps are designed to address this. Using the matching Sonic tiles and Sonic bass traps together gives you a consistent setup both acoustically and visually throughout the room. How do I install Sonic Acoustics tiles?Spray contact adhesive is the recommended method and works well on plaster, plasterboard, brick and wood surfaces. Spray both the back of the tile and the surface, allow both to tack for around a minute, then press firmly. Hold for a good 20 to 30 seconds on ceiling applications. The modular 300mm and 600mm sizing makes it straightforward to tile out a wall in neat rows. For temporary installations, heavy-duty hook and loop tape can work on smooth painted surfaces though it's less reliable long-term. We supply spray adhesive directly if you need it. Why choose eFoam for Sonic Acoustics?Everything in the Sonic Acoustics range is manufactured at our own factory in Bilston, West Midlands. We've been producing acoustic foam for over 20 years and the Sonic range reflects that experience, the profiles, the tolerances, the foam specification. When you order from us you're ordering direct from the people who make it. If you have a specific installation in mind and want advice on which products to use and how many, our team are happy to help. Call us on 0800 0439990 (Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm) or send us a message. We also offer a sample service if you want to check the density and profile before ordering. FREE Delivery!
